Battle Wounds

Working in the kitchen can be quite dangerous.
The part I always get the most scared about is taking hot items out of the oven. This is why:
I burn myself so much! Above is the first really bad burn I've gotten. It is in the first stage of the burn (complete with the blister and all), and below is after the blister popped and then it turned kinda greenish in the middle... Ironically, this burn came when I was experimenting for the Drexel cookie contest and baking up batches and batches of cookies. This burn was from the winning batch! So it was all worth it in the end.
Less than a month later, I received this beauty while preparing the hubby's birthday dinner. The shape of it makes me think of a stingray or a dragonfly.
I think I need some full arm length oven mitts! Both of these burns have left permanent marks, but I am kind of proud of them in a weird sort of way. They are my kitchen battle wounds.

ha! it reminds me of dating sam and all the wounds i inflicted on him and how i wondered if there would be anything left of him if we were to get married. hopefully you wont get any more burns and there will be more left to you when youre done with drexelicious. those do look pretty gruesome. please please please get some long mittens. maybe a hazmat suit would be better.

Holy Cow. At least you were not behind the wheel in your dad's car. Who would guess cooking could be a hazard. I whipped up some pasta last time the kids were here and had a burn under my forearm and it took forever to heal. I though the church was against tatoos. You certainly will remember those cookies.

Oh, so sad....you need body armor, especially since you don't have that much body to begin with. I hope the results are all worth it. Think of of it like notches in a gun, to keep track of all your delicacies you created, and never to forget.
